Watercolor Portfolio

While I'm catching up with posting my artwork from college, I figured I'd post my watercolor paintings. I absolutely love watercolors. It takes a great deal of patience, but I find myself more relaxed doing watercolors than with using any other medium. These are pieces from my first watercolor class I ever took.

Life Drawing Portfolio

Greetings!

It's been forever and a day since I've last updated this blog. Initially I created it as a way to have an online portfolio of my animation work. Over the last few weeks and months I've been toying around with the idea of making it a more current blog to creatively display my more recent artwork.

Here is some of the life drawing work I did my last semester of school last year.

I absolutely fell in LOVE with gesture drawing. These are some examples of 30-60 second gestures. So much fun.

We did a great exercise where we covered the paper with black conte and only used an eraser to take away to create the form. We then went back in with black conte for the darker shadows.

We did a lot of work with ecorche drawing (drawing where the muscles underneath are while observing the model). They were super hard and stretched me a LOT, but I feel as though I got a way better grasp of anatomy last semester through these intensive drawings. Each were 20 minute posses.

Here is a study we did on foreshortening. Each pose was 20 minutes. We concentrated on getting the proportions correct.

Here's a random one I did of a fellow classmate, which actually ended up looking a lot like him.

Overall I'm so thrilled I took this class, as it was probably the hardest one ever took in college. Very worthwhile.
